Fairy Pots and other Cottage Treasures

Hello Friends,

I do hope this finds you well!  I'm delighted to finally be making my first blog post in the new cottage.  It has been quite a transition, but I am glad we are here, and quite glad we made it in before Winter arrived - which happened just a few days ago.  : )  We've been having fun discovering little bits of cottage magic here and there, as well as cottage treasures that I'm excited to share with you!  I'm also delighted that I've had a chance to paint a few new fairies.  I suppose it has been a relief, really.  It reminds me of a story I read once about a magic paintbrush, and how the artist thought they couldn't paint anymore when they lost their paintbrush, but of course - in the end - discovered that the magic wasn't in their paintbrush so much as it was within themselves.  So, in a funny (perhaps childish) little way, I was a bit fearful that leaving the farm would take away the magic of creating art for me.   I am reminded, however, that faerie and magic are everywhere - always - and I think that is the fairy best of reminders!

So, onto these cottage treasures...!  I'm not sure if this picture quite captures the size of these little fairy pots - but they are the teeny tiniest of little flower pots that I've ever seen!  They are so little that I just can't imagine what one would plant in them (perhaps other than seedlings), therefore, I'm quite sure that they must be the property of the fairies!

Juniper - one of our sweet kitty boys - with the fairy pots.

Other treasures include, A Faery Door...

with fancy faery hinges...

and a little faery knob...

A rustic workbench, which we've put in the living room...

And an old rocker, with claw feet, which I would love to restore one day if possible.

And lastly, here is a little peek at the beginnings of my new studio.  I have much painting of the walls to do, and there have been whispers of cottage mice and amanita mushrooms to paint, but I shall save that for a later post...

Thanks so much for being here with me at the start of this new little journey!
Bestest of  Faery Wishes,
T
