Printmaking - A New Adventure

I'm delighted to share with you my newest little adventure - Printmaking!  I've always been so fascinated by printmaking images and so I decided it was finally time to give it a try.  All I have to say about it is that I absolutely Love it!  It is so meditative an art and truly enjoyable for me.  I've started by focusing on Northwoods Wildflowers, as I will be attending the Michigan Wildflower Conference March 8 & 9 in East Lansing, Michigan, and thought this would be something special to offer at my table.

Here is a photograph of a block print I made featuring a native Michigan wildflower - Star Flower (Trientalis borealis)

I'm delighted with how the prints turned out!

I will be offering these and other prints too in a limited quantity of 10, and will have some to offer in my Etsy shop shortly.

The Shaggy Mane Mushroom Fairy

Hello Friends!

I hope this finds you well!  This is my newest painting, titled "The Shaggy Mane Mushroom Fairy" - Shaggy Manes (Coprinus sps.) are one of my most favourite Northwoods finds - typically found in the Autumn here in northern Michigan.

I'm not sure what it is about mushrooms, as I am not a fan of eating them, but finding mushrooms in the wild brings me the greatest JOY imaginable!  I believe I am truly a very annoying companion to take walks with in the Spring, Summer and Autumn, for I am constantly stopping in rapture to observe and photograph found natural specimens!  Even though Winter lasts for nearly 6 months out of the year here, I am glad, for otherwise I would be too distracted to ever paint these wondrous things that make my heart sing and dance!
